Chaudhuri Villa Residential Architecture Design Details and Philosophy: On the banks of the river Hooghly the site evolved a strong sense of space. The simple program of living, dining and bed was divided in the three floors with a spatial direction towards the river. A composition of volumes and masses inspired by modern tropical architecture. Extensive use of canopies that lend a scale break to the overall composition. Wide open balconies have been sculpted out in the built form that gives a permeable visual transition to the landscape. The rough concrete texture is used along with an exposed brick texture that creates a subtle visual palette.
