Project Brief
Predominantly inspired by the design approach of Francis Kéré, the Sports Centre located at Bidasar, Rajasthan stands firm with a minimalistic yet strong appeal. A 7000 Sq.ft block consists of a gymnasium, a table tennis court, and a separate shade for badminton tournaments. Separately placed basketball and volleyball courts have a huge capacity keeping in mind that they can hold events of various scales. The perfect use of simple geometry with dominant forms and masses has been kept to maintain a frugal simplicity. The finishes and textures have been chosen according to the contextual character, derived from the immediate surroundings. The windows have been placed on the inner side to maximize the play of light and shadow in the interior spaces through the mindfully designed fenestrations.
